George Strait spoke with The Tennessean about where his career stands with country radio. He kept it gracious.
“They’ve been very good to me over the years and I really appreciate that,” George said.

He’s still making music, too. His 2024 album, “Cowboys and Dreamers,” became his 27th Number 1 on the country albums chart.
On Monday night, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame honored him with its Career Maker Award. He has recorded 264 tunes by 72 Hall of Fame writers, and 44 of them were still waiting on induction when he recorded their work.
Radio may have moved on, and we’re still right here with George, playing those records loud.
