These golden dark chocolate chip cookies bake up crisp at the edges, soft in the center, and packed with rich melty chocolate in every bite.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth and fully combined.
- Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, then mix just until a soft cookie dough forms.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chips, making sure they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are just set.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Tip: For extra gooey cookies, press a few extra chocolate chips on top of each dough ball before baking.
