This ultra-easy chocolate mousse sets into a rich, silky dessert with deep chocolate flavor and an irresistibly creamy finish.
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250 ml) hot whole milk
- 100 g dark chocolate, finely chopped
- 1-2 teaspoons honey, optional
- 1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa powder, plus extra for dusting
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup, for drizzling (optional)
- 1 tablespoon chocolate shavings, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the milk until hot but not boiling, then pour it into a mixing bowl.
- Add the chopped dark chocolate, honey if using, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Whisk or stir until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is completely smooth, glossy, and slightly thickened.
- For an extra airy texture, blend the mixture for 30-60 seconds with an immersion blender or regular blender.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into 2 to 4 serving glasses or ramekins.
- Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 2 to 4 hours, or until set and mousse-like.
- Before serving, top with a dusting of cocoa powder, chocolate shavings, and a drizzle of chocolate syrup if desired.
Tip: Use good-quality dark chocolate with around 60-70% cocoa for the smoothest texture and best flavor.
