Slow Cooker Cracker Barrel Fried Apples

Ingredients:
6 large tart apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup butter, cut into small pieces
Directions:
Place the sliced apples in the bowl of the slow cooker.
In a small bowl, mix together granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sprinkle this sugar mixture over the apples in the slow cooker and toss to coat.
Dot the top of the apples with pieces of butter.
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours, or until the apples are soft and the sauce is bubbly.
Stir the apples well before serving to coat them with the sauce. Serve warm, either alone or as a topping for ice cream or pancakes.
