Homemade Healthy Dark Chocolate Bars

These homemade healthy chocolate bars are rich, silky, and deeply chocolaty with a touch of honeyed sweetness and flaky sea salt.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup coconut oil
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
- 1 tablespoon almond butter (optional, for extra creaminess)
- 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Gently melt the coconut oil in a small saucepan over very low heat, or in a heatproof bowl over barely simmering water.
- Whisk in the cocoa powder until completely smooth, then add the honey, vanilla extract, fine sea salt, and almond butter if using. Whisk until glossy and fully combined.
- Pour the chocolate mixture into a silicone chocolate bar mold or a small parchment-lined container, tapping it lightly on the counter to remove air bubbles.
- Sprinkle a little flaky sea salt on top if desired.
- Place the mold in the refrigerator or freezer and chill until fully set, about 30-60 minutes.
- Unmold the chocolate bars and store them in the fridge for the best texture, especially in warm weather.
Tip: Make sure the honey is at room temperature and whisk thoroughly so it blends smoothly into the coconut oil for a glossy, evenly set chocolate.
