Chocolate Banana Protein Cake

This soft, moist chocolate banana protein cake is naturally sweetened, deeply chocolatey, and loaded with wholesome ingredients for the perfect healthy treat.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 cup chocolate or vanilla protein powder
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup oat flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease or line an 8-inch loaf pan or small cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until mostly smooth. Whisk in the eggs, Greek yogurt, honey, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Add the protein powder, cocoa powder, oat flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir gently until a thick batter forms, then fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top evenly.
  5. Bake for 28-35 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
  7. Serve as is, or top with a spoonful of Greek yogurt and extra banana slices for an extra protein boost.

Tip: Use very ripe bananas with lots of brown spots for the sweetest flavor and best moist texture without needing extra sweetener.
