Fudgy Chocolate Brownies

These ultra-fudgy chocolate brownies have a crackly top, rich cocoa flavor, and irresistibly gooey centers.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (90 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup (175 g) semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until glossy. Add the eggs and vanilla, then whisk until smooth and slightly thickened.
  3. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir gently until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  5. Bake for 28-35 minutes, until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan, then lift them out and cut into squares for clean edges and fudgy centers.

Tip: For the fudgiest texture, don’t overbake—pull them out when the center still looks slightly soft, then let them finish setting as they cool.
