Gooey Strawberry Muffin Buns

These soft, bakery-style strawberry buns bake up pillowy, buttery, and bursting with juicy berries in every gooey bite.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced
- 4 oz cream cheese, cubed
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 12-cup muffin pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
- Fold in the diced strawberries, then divide the thick batter evenly among the muffin cups. Press a small cube of cream cheese into the center of each and sprinkle the tops with powdered sugar.
- Bake for 20 to 24 minutes, until the tops are lightly golden and the centers are just set.
- Let the buns cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then gently loosen and serve warm for the best soft, gooey texture.
Tip: For extra jammy flavor, toss the strawberries with 1 teaspoon of sugar before folding them into the batter.
